Since setting up formartworks in 2006 Heather has created large sculptural pieces for both public and private commissions, worked with schools and community groups and has exhibited in a variety of settings.

Current studio practice explores ideas of the human form and its representation, using a combination of mechanical and traditional hand techniques. Pieces range from life sized busts to ten foot stump carvings and are carved from locally sourced reclaimed wood

Previous work has included creative texts, textiles, installation pieces, mosaic, found objects, collaborative projects with theatre, carving, painting and drawing. Heather has worked with people of all ages across a wide spectrum of needs and abilities, including physical, behavioural and mental health issues.
